That was the life of Huguette Clark & I'll be reading more about the late Huguette Clark tonight (Tuesday) up at the Marias Heritage Center. We're currently reading the hardback book "Empty Mansions: The Mysterious Life of Huguette Clark and the Spending of a Great American Fortune" by Bill Dedman & Paul Clark Newell, Jr. Tuesday evenings at 6 for Montana History up at the Heritage Center. How "Mysterious" was the daughter of W.A. Clark, one of the 50 richest Americans ever? This enigmatic heiress to a copper-mining fortune from the Gilded Age had not been photographed in public since the 1920's! Her story is a fairy tale told in reverse: a daughter born with the bags full of gold who locks herself away.
