That's what we'll be reading about tonight (Tuesday) during Montana History at the Heritage. I'll be there this evening to commence our new read, "Slaughter on the Otter: The Kendrick Sheep Raid." On an early December morning back in 1900, a tenacious & determined group of cattle guys led by a future Wyoming governor & U.S. senator wiped out a band of over 2,000 sheep that had "invaded" their range. This very story had been cloaked by a conspiracy of silence for almost 75 years, until it was meticulously researched by the author of "Slaughter on the Otter, Forest B. Dunning. Looking forward to reading & sharing the "story-behind-the-story" at 6 tonight up at the Marias Heritage Center in Shelby. Hopefully the Heritage ISN'T serving mutton for dinner tonight...
