Renowned wildlife photographer Sumio Harada will lead off the Winter Speaker Series, co-sponsored by the Glacier National Park Fund and the Grouse Mountain Lodge at Whitefish.

Harada is best known for his photography of Glacier's mountain goats, however, he has always been fascinated with nature and GNP.  His presentation on February 24th at 7pm will feature 100 of his photographs of Glacier Park.

Harada was born in Japan, and studied biology at Tokyo University of Agriculture. His student research on the behavior of the Japanese serow (a relative of our mountain goat) led to a career in wildlife photography. Harada's work has appeared in several magaines, including National Geographic, National Wildlife, Ranger Rick, Canadian Wildlife and Montana Magazine. His photo book Mountain Goats of Glacier National Park, will be available for purchase that evening.

The Glacier National Park Fund is a non-profit partner for Glacier National Park. GNPF's mission is to protect the beauty and heritage of the park. Visit the GNPF website at www.glaciernationalparkfund.org or www.billyinglacierpark.com .
