That's what one of my Mayo Clinic Physicians always tells me..."You're the boss, Mr. Puffer".. It sounds great(!), but I'm never quite sure if it's really true. I DO know that I CAN be "The BOSS" of my food & actually put my food to work for ME, after reading Dr. Gary R. Epler, M.D.'s new book, "Food: You're The Boss-Put It To Work For You-5 Steps to Take Charge of Your Nutrition". I was anxious to read this tome after checking out Dr. Epler's credentials. Dr. Gary Epler is a clinician, author, & educator who has written the critically acclaimed, personalized health book, "You're the Boss: Manage Your Disease". The good doctor obtained his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans & his master's degree in public health of Harvard University in Boston. & it this gets even better! Dr. Epler has been recognized yearly from 1994 to 2012 in "The Best Doctors in America"! He's a pulmonary consultant at Brigham & Women's Hospital & Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, as well as a clinical associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. For 15 years, he chaired the Department of Medicine at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. Man, this medical practitioner might be almost as smart as our own Dr. Clary here in Shelby! This is a great read on learning about the types of foods to eat, why they're valuable, & how much, along with understanding our nutrition inventory & diagnostic process. Dr. Epler says, "Make what you eat work for you now, next year, & years into the future". He says that we can discover the balance of what we need to look & feel our best & since WE do the balancing & WE'RE choosing the menus, WE will be in charge. I encourage you to visit Dr. Epler at Epler Health at www.eplerhealth.com for your  personalized health information & learning how to manage your health. "Food: You're The Boss" is published by Epler Health. What I have learned from this "easy to understand" book? Well, when lunch time rolls around today, I think I'll go for a burger & a beer!
