(SHELBY) – TOOLE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WILL HOLD A PUBLIC MEETING

TONIGHT ON THE POTENTIAL SALE OF A TRACT OF LAND JUST NORTH OF THE RACE

TRACK ON THE MARIAS FAIRGROUNDS.

TOOLE COUNTY COMMISSIONER ALAN UNDERDAL SAYS THE FAIR BOARD

RECOMMENDED AFTER A DECEMBER 5TH MEETING THAT THE LAND BE SOLD.

UNDERDAL SAYS CENEX HARVEST STATES HAS EXPRESSED INTEREST IN

PURCHASING THE LAND AND THE MATTER WILL APPEAR ON THE COMMISSIONERS

AGENDA ON THURSDAY.     THE LAND IN QUESTION ENCOMPASSES JUST OVER 15 ACRES.

THRU A SERIES OF DISCUSSIONS, COUNTY OFFICIALS HAVE LEARNED THAT

THE MOST PRACTICAL AND ADVANTAGEOUS WAY TO SELL THE LAND MAY BE TO

SELL IT TO THE CITY OF SHELBY WHO COULD THEN SELL IT TO CHS WITH THE

AGREEMENT FROM CHS ON HOW THEY MIGHT DEVELOP THE PROPERTY.

SHELBY MAYOR DR. LARRY BONDERUD SAYS THOSE OPTIONS WILL ALSO

BE EXPLAINED AT THE PUBLIC MEETING WHICH IS SCHEDULED TO START AT

7:30 TUESDAY NIGHT IN THE TOOLE COUNTY COURTROOM.
