The 9th annual Bluegrass on the Bay kicks off Friday night at Odd Fellows Park in Great Falls. I'm not an odd fellow(!)...but, I'd sure like to be there.

My old friend Dave Wilson is stopping by the Puffman Show Thursday afternoon at 4:35 to tell us about this year's event which, of course, benefits The History Museum in the Electric City.

Two top bluegrass bands are traveling long distances to make their first appearances this Friday. The headliner band, Town Mountain from Asheville, North Carolina, and the opening band, 23 String Band from Louisville, Kentucky sound GREAT! And I should know, that radio icon, Wilson, has shared four different cuts with me.

Tickets are available now at The History Museum, both Albertsons Stores and Kaufmans in Great Falls. Food and beverages will be available and concertgoers are invited to bring their own folding chairs or blankets. They're not allowing pets and to me, this is GOOD. I don't know why some folks persist in doing this but that's a subject for another Puffman blog.

The ever dependable Dave Wilson's emceeing the affair and that's reason in itself for attending! Dave's one of the few people in the world that I like to talk about more than myself! I'm the Puffman.

Bluegrass? You bet! Gates open at 5 pm Friday at Odd Fellows Park. The History Museum on 2nd Street South in Great Falls is dedicated to preserving and the promoting the heritage of our neighbors to the south. In the previous eight Bluegrass on the Bay concerts, more than 7500 people have attended and over $102,000 has been raised for the History Museum.

See you Friday night and let's all give Dave Wilson a real down home welcome on the Puffman Show tomorrow afternoon.
