In a surprise special award presentation, pop country superstar Taylor Swift was elected President of the United States in the opening moments of the 2013 People’s Choice Awards.

Okay, not quite. Actually, host Kaley Cuoco noted that this year’s People’s Choice Awards garnered more than 475 million votes — more than three times as many as were cast in the recent presidential election.

“So according to a loophole in the Electoral College, it’s official — the President of the United States is Taylor Swift,” Cuoco quipped.

And while she’s not the actual new Chief Executive, Swift was named Favorite Country Artist just minutes later.
