(SWEETGRASS) – THE U-S CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION OFFICE AT THE PORT OF SWEETGRASS IS REPORTING TODAY (Tues. June 4th) THAT THEY HAVE RECOVERED A STOLEN VEHICLE DURING AN EXPORT ATTEMPT.

IT WAS NOT YOUR ORDINARY VEHICLE, BUT RATHER A VERY LARGE SKID STEER LOADER.  THE COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVER HAULING THE LOADER WAS STOPPED AT THE BORDER AROUND 2AM AND PRIOR TO THE EXPORT ATTEMPT, A ROUTINE QUERY WAS CONDUCTED.

THAT QUERY REVEALED THAT THE SKID STEER LOADER HAD BEEN REPORTED STOLEN IN COLORADO.    IT IS NOW IMPOUNDED AT THE TOOLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE.

THE C-B-P DID NOT PROVIDE ANY OTHER INFORMATION ON WHO MIGHT BE A SUSPECT IN THE THEFT OR HOW THE TRUCK DRIVER HAULING THE LOADER MIGHT BE INVOLVED.
