She's Monica Lewis, the diminutive, dimpled singer & actress. Stylish she was! Monica was the wife of one of Hollywood's legendary studio chiefs-the late Jennings Lang. In her book (available from Cable Publishing, www.cablepublishing.com), "Hollywood Through My Eyes-The Lives & Loves of a Golden Age Siren", she writes about everyone from A to Z in her career...like Louis Armstrong to Richard D. Zanuck. They're all in here, Gig Young, Natalie Wood, Sarah Vaughn, Elizabeth Taylor. I would name more but I'm the Puffman & although I may be a "stage door Johnny", I'm not a name dropper. Monica Lewis is & you have to check out this read on the swinging, swirling world of show business, Hollywood in the Golden Age. The book is a beautiful coffee table presentation & I'll be giving away a hard cover copy this afternoon (Friday) on Puffman Musical Trivia during the 4 o'clock hour of my radio show. The first caller in with the correct answer to my Musical Trivia question will receive the book. You'll love this story, the pictures alone in this tome are well worth the price of the book. It truly was the "Golden Age" of Hollywood back when actors & actresses were stars & movies actually had plots, not just a bunch of special effects & loud noises. Take two on the aisle & enjoy reading all about Hollywood through Monica Lewis's eyes. And while she certainly was a Golden Age siren, she's still worth a whistle.
