If you’re a child of the ’80s, you might remember ‘Can’t Buy Me Love,’ the Patrick Dempsey high school comedy which hit theaters on August 14, 1987. Smack dab in the middle of the film, Seth Green, who plays Dempsey’s younger brother, strikes a pose which modern audiences would immediately recognize as ‘Tebowing.”

Here’s the other weird thing: Tim Tebow, whose above pose on the football field inspired the Tebowing internet meme, was born August 14th, 1987. Your mind was just blown, wasn’t it?

While we wish we could take credit for this discovery, which shakes the foundation of both time and space, it was the work of tipster Jeff B, who sent the information to sports blog Deadspin.

Now let’s consider the implications here. The ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ scene in question (you can watch it here) was obviously shot before the film was released. So Tebow, who was either in his mother’s womb or hadn’t been conceived yet, was somehow able to signal to Green to strike the pose, knowing that the movie would eventually premiere on the same day that he was brought into the world.

That’s pretty impressive. While Tebow still might not be able throw a proper forward pass, we seriously doubt there is another QB in the NFL who is able to force ’80s child actors to strike his signature pose.
