HAVRE - Carol Reifschneider, Interim Dean of the College of Education, Arts & Sciences and Nursing at Montana State University-Northern, is excited to bring back successful Secondary Education programs, Health & Physical Education and General Science 5-12, this Fall.

Both programs have been approved by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and are accredited by the Montana Office of Public Instruction. Students can enroll in these programs immediately as classes will resume this Fall.
Since its inception in 1929, MSU-Northern, formerly Northern Montana College, has stood for quality and integrity in teacher education.
"We have very strong elementary and graduate education programs in place," said MSU-N Chancellor Greg Kegel. "Secondary education is the perfect complement to those programs."
MSU-Northern was approved to offer Secondary Education General Science and Health and Physical Education during the May Board of Regents meeting in Kalispell.
Reifschneider said that MSU-Northern plans to seek approval in the coming academic year of Secondary Education Broadfield Social Sciences and English so that enrollment could begin in the Fall of 2016.
"These are the degrees that our students as well as school districts in the region are looking for and we are confident that the education they are receiving is at the highest standard," Reifschneider said.
"We know for a fact that Hi-Line students are more likely to stay and teach on the Hi-Line," said Kegel, "and schools at every level need teachers.  The quality of the programs MSU-Northern offers ensures success for our students no matter where they go."
