Rupert Murdoch has been spending most of his time in court these days with the settlements over his newspapers’ email and phone hacking scandal, but now he may be back over allegations that are even more bizarre.

The head of News Corp has been accused in open court of committing defamation against a man through a series of bizarre coincidences in some of his company’s movies and TV shows.

Michael Charles Bertsch filed a lawsuit against Murdoch in federal court in Washington for defamation and invasion of privacy.

Bertsch claims that TV shows from News Corp subsidiary FOX like ‘The X-Files’ and ‘Burn Notice,’ and the movie ‘Donnie Darko’ (which FOX released on DVD), are eerily similar to his own life through a series of bizarre coincidences.

For instance, according to the lawsuit, he claims the Darko family drove the same car that his family did and share similar names. He also claims that David Duchovny’s ‘X-Files’ character Fox Mulder is based on him since Bertsch also once worked for the U.S. Department of Defense and they both have sisters who were murdered. (Of course, he doesn’t specify if they were both abducted by aliens.)

Bertsch claims that Murdoch and Fox have been tapping his phone and using his life for story material. (While crazy, Murdoch is no stranger to wiretapping controversies.) So if you see a show called ‘Michael Bertsch, Conspiracy Theorist’ on FOX next season, be you’ll know something is amiss.
