‘Prometheus’ Trailer Promises Outer Space ‘Alien’ Scares [VIDEO]

20th Century Fox

Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ is not only one of the more anticipated movies of 2012, it’s also one of the more mysterious. Is it a prequel to Scott’s classic sci-fi film ‘Alien’? Or just another haunted house movie set in outer space?

Now that the trailer is here, fans have even more to chew over.

Much like ‘Alien,’ the film is a sci-fi adventure where “a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.” Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender (‘X-Men: First Class’) and ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ star Noomi Rapace are among the crew members who will test whether or not screams can actually be heard in space.

Will Charlize run from the same acid-spitting ‘Alien’ that terrorized Sigourney Weaver? We’ll have to wait until June 8, 2012 to find out. For now, watch the trailer below for clues.
