Actually, there is ALWAYS something to tell when I get at the ol' blog desk! "Nothing To Tell" is the new book that we decided on reading up at the Marias Heritage Center on Tuesday evening. Kareen Bratt's "My Home's In Montana" came to an end on Tuesday & what a wonderful conclusion it was. Our new book, "Nothing To Tell-Extraordinary Stories of Montana Ranch Women" by Donna Gray promises to be every bit as captivating. Author Gray, down in Montana's Paradise Valley, wove a fascinating look at Montana ranch women in this collection of oral histories that captures the unique voices of women as they share their remarkable stories of homesteading here in the Big Sky Country. She sat the the kitchen tables of 12 women in their 80's who were born in or immigrated to Montana in the late 19th or early 20th century. In retelling their life stories, Gray stepped aside & allowed these women with "nothing to tell" to speak for themselves. Pride, nostalgia, & triumph fill a dozen hearts as they realized how remarkable their lives have been & wonder how they did it all. I can't wait to read more! See you next Tuesday evening at 6 at the Heritage Center for more "Montana History".
