Myth Crashers: #1 Seat Belts Aren’t Needed at Slow Speeds
With Memorial Day weekend coming up, the Montana Highway Patrol will be stepping up enforcement of seatbelt use. The press release I received this morning included a very sobering statistic:
Preliminary numbers show 77 percent of those who died in crashes on Montana roads this year were not wearing seat belts — an increase of 30 percent from the same time period last year.
If that statistic doesn't convince you that it's a good idea to buckle up, the Montana Department of Transportation has produced a series of short videos they call "Myth Crashers". Today's myth: at slower speeds, seats belts aren't necessary. watch the video HERE.
