My home IS in Montana but "My Home's In Montana" is also the title of the book we've started reading during "Montana History" Tuesday evenings at the Marias Heritage Center. This is the book that Marie Ostrem was kind enough to loan me & share with the group. The author is a Kareen Bratt. This is one of the most unique books I have ever run across...from the standpoint that there is NO publisher listed on the book, there are NO publication date(s) & very little "general" information on the author. I do know that the book came from the Prairie Peddler here in Shelby & there is a 2012 autograph from the author, which leads me to believe that she must have visited Shelby at one time...like last year! Since we only got to page 15 last week, I can't tell you a much about this book, but it appears like it is going to be a good read. Author Bratt grew up on a wheat ranch in the Fort Benton area & apparently she was born around the time that World War Two began (1941). I have no idea where the woman is today or if she is still alive. I'll be sharing more with you as we progress through the book. See you tomorrow evening (election night) at the Marias Heritage Center. And NO, we DON'T talk "politics" while I'm there.
