Toole County will be hosting Level 1 Master Gardener classes this winter in preparation for spring. This is an 8 week class that will run every Monday night from February 6th – March 27th from 6-8 pm The level 1 master gardener classes are designed for beginning to intermediate gardeners who want to learn the basics of gardening or want to brush up on their yard and garden skills.

The classes will cover subjects including soils, fertility, lawn care, irrigation, pest management, composting, plant growth and development, growing flowers, and food, and proper tree, shrub, and vine planting and care.

In order to become a Master Gardener, a participant must attend the classes, take an open book test and fulfill a 20-hour volunteer commitment.  In Toole County, Master Gardener classes will cost $50, which will cover the cost of the book and class materials.
