Megaloads too tall for I-90 Overpasses

LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — Two 255-foot-long water purification units bound for energy projects in Alberta's oil sands have arrived at a Snake River port in Washington and await transport along a disputed mountain corridor through Idaho and Montana. But the Spokesman Review reports the ultimate route is unclear, since approval of the oversized "megaload" shipments on U.S. Highway 12 is uncertain. Previous megaloads were transported on Interstate 90; these shipments are too tall for I-90 overpasses.
