Marias Medical Center here in Shelby is meeting another need in Toole County. Thanks to funds raised by the Toole County Health Foundation (TCHF), Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation will get underway October 1st! Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a service that's designed for those with lung problems. Pulmonary Rehabilitation is vital for any one with specific lung issues including: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Emphysema, Chronic Bronchitis, Pulmonary Fibrosis, lung cancer & lung surgery. Cardiac Rehabilitation is a physician ordered service that includes phases of rehabilitation with a holistic approach & includes monitored exercise, education on nutrition, stress management & overall improvement of health. These programs are under the direction of Dr. Berdecia, MD, Karen Jensen, RN & Bridget Blevins, Director of Respiratory Therapy. Bridget Blevins & Karen Jensen will be joining me this afternoon (Wednesday) at 2:30 on the Puffman Show to fill us in on this new program that is being offered to Shelby patients & those in the surrounding communities. If you or someone you know is in need of these services, please contact Cardiac Rehabilitation & Pulmonary Rehabilitation for more information. Both Bridget & Karen are reachable at 434 3249. We'll find out more at 2:30 this afternoon on KSEN AM 1150.
