As we approach St. Patrick’s Day, it’s a good time to think about how luck affects our lives.

According to a LinkedIn survey of 7,000 workers worldwide, 84 percent believe luck plays a role how they are doing in their career.

However, they don’t think luck is the only factor. In fact, 70 percent said that hard work was more important than luck when it comes to career advancement.

How much a person thinks luck dictates their employment situation may also depend on what country they call home. Of the 15 countries surveyed, the United States ranked a lucky number seven in how lucky their workers thought they were. Japanese and South Korean workers considered themselves the luckiest among the group.
