Forensic behavior scientist Jan Schwartz, Ph.D., is my special guest this afternoon (Tuesday) at 4:35 on the Puffman Show. Jan's the author of the new book, "Last Summer With Oscar-An Adventure Story Of Love And Courage" dealing with the true life story of a 9 year old Golden Retriever's response to cancer. After learning the severity of "Oscar's" diagnosis, Jan and her husband ruled out standard treatment options such as surgery and chemotherapy for this gentle-natured golden. Instead, they chose to celebrate the life and spirit of their beloved pet each day left with him. Then, surprisingly, Oscar began eating Slippery Elm leaves. With Oscar leading the way, Jan's curiosity about Slippery Elm leaves marks the beginning of their exploration and discovery of little-known cancer remedies. You'll have an opportunity to win a hard cover edition of this book that details the events and happenings with both scientific precision and heartfelt spiritual insights. The story inspires love and a true belief in the potential of humanity. I only pray that it has a happy ending. If it doesn't, I'll be bummed out the rest of the week. See you at 4:35 this afternoon on the Puffman Show with the story of Oscar. Speaking of dogs, don't forget the Dog Gone Walk 2012 coming up this Sunday afternoon at 2 in Cut Bank. Registration kicks off at 2 at the tennis course behind the bus barn with a $5 entry fee/$10 per family with proceeds going to the Cut Bank Animal Shelter medical fund.
