Like The End Of The World

S.B. Gilstad wrote “The roar sounded like the end of the world.”Gilstad was referring to the 7.5 magnitude earthquake that rocked Montana’s Yellowstone country on the evening of August 17, 1959, & this evening (Tuesday) at 6 o’clock, I’ll be up at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby┬áreading & sharing more of the book, “The 1959 Yellowstone Earthquake” by Larry Morris. It’s a riveting read for sure with a foreword by Lee Whittlesey, Yellowstone National Park Historian. In the book, Acclaimed historian Larry Morris tells the gripping minute-by-minute sage of the survivors who endured the interminable night, the first responders who risked their lives & the families who waited days & weeks for word of their missing loved ones. How exciting is this book? Let me tell you,┬áI’ve asked Judy to supply me with a safety harness on my reading chair just in case! See you tonight at 6 for more Montana History at the Heritage.
