In a few months, Justin Moore and Sunny Sweeney will link back up on the road for the 2012 Country Throwdown Tour… which also means Moore’s window for keeping his precious young daughters’ innocence in tact is getting smaller and smaller.

Sweeney recently found out that her singing buddy said in an interview last month that he has a few concerns about his 2-year-old and 4-month-old daughters hanging out with the sometimes unpredictable Sweeney, who isn’t afraid to let her hair down and be one of the boys.

“Justin did an interview with this girl the day before I did, and she asked him who he was excited to be on the Throwdown Tour with and who he was most worried about having his kids hang around,” Sweeney tells Taste of Country with a laugh. “Out of all those guys on the Throwdown Tour (Gary Allan, Rodney Atkins, Josh Thompson and Eric Paslay), he picked me!”

So when Sweeney bumped into Moore during Country Radio Seminar last month, she confronted him on what he said. “He goes, ‘You ain’t mad, are ya?’ I told him I wasn’t mad, that I thought it was funny. I told him I was actually flattered that he would think that. He was like, ‘Well, I’ve got daughters, so I mean … so of course I don’t want them being around you, drinking and smoking.’ Then he goes, ‘But then I started thinking about it, you cut out the smoking.’ And I said, ‘And you drink, so how about them being around you!?’ [laughs] He was just messing with me. We’re good friends, so it was all in fun. I thought it was pretty funny.”

“He is like my friend outside of all of this music business stuff,” Sweeney adds of Moore. “I love him. I like his songs, and I like his attitude. I love Gary Allan, Josh Thompson and Eric Paslay, too. It’s going to be really, really fun tour. It’s not going to suck at all [laughs]!”

In addition to being excited to be out with some of her best guy friends in the biz, Sweeney is also looking forward to encounters with Paslay, who is as amazing of a songwriter as he is a singer. Paslay co-wrote not only the No. 1 Jake Owen tune, ‘Barefoot Blue Jean Night,’ but he is also a co-writer on the current Eli Young Band single, ‘Even If it Breaks Your Heart.’

“I’m going to corner Eric Paslay and make him write with me,” says Sweeney with a smile. “I think he’s amazing. I’m going to tie him down and strap a guitar to him. But he’s real tall and I’m short, so I’ll wear my big shoes [laughs]! I’ll at least have a fighting chance that way!”
