Julie Nixon Eisenhower (remember her) is referring to a story of high adventure, courage and history-making moments. The book is "Inside the President's Helicopter", "Reflections of a White House Senior Pilot" by LTC Gene T. Boyer with Jackie Boor. Jackie will be my special guest Monday afternoon at 4:35 to discuss this page turner of a book. Author and retired U.S. Army LTC Gene T. Boyer was the pilot who flew President Nixon away from the White House in Army One the day he resigned. Boyer's "notable passenger list" reads like a who's who in national and international politics. His passenger roster includes General William Westmoreland, Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt, German Chancellor Willie Brandt, Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, the Shah of Iran, Egyptian President Anwar Sada, not to mention the late Senator Robert Kennedy and John Wayne. Now, these guys didn't all ride at the same time, the copter wasn't big enough for the men nor their egos!  How does a dirt poor kid from Ohio become the senior helicopter pilot for the White House?  Find out Monday afternoon at 4:35 when I talk with author Jackie Boor. I'll be giving away a copy of this fascinating read immediately following the interview. By the way, there's even a segment in the book on the Lieutenant Colonel's "most bizarre" flight..thwarting a possible plot to assassinate Nixon here in Montana. Seriously, it's true and I can't wait to learn more on Monday. And a special "thank you" to Nan Wisherd at Cable Press in Wisconsin for helping me arrange to this interview. As publicists go, Nan's THE BEST!
