‘Hunger Games’ TV Spot Features Action, Plot Hints and Taylor Swift

Every year it seems like the summer movie season starts earlier and earlier. You can argue that last year it started in April with the release of ‘Fast Five.’ This year, you can argue that it starts in March with the release of ‘The Hunger Games.’

The movie is set to open on March 23rd (about six weeks before ‘The Avengers’ formally kicks off the summer movie season on May 3rd) and early reports indicate the first installment of the trilogy should be insanely successful.

To help stoke the fire of excitement, Lionsgate has released an new extended TV commercial that highlights some new footage from the film. Unlike the previous trailer, which was a little more action-heavy, this one only teases the events of the film, set to the beat of “Safe and Sound” by Taylor Swift. Check out the new clip below.
