The past few 'Guardians of the Galaxy' trailers have done well in teasing Marvel's upcoming space opera with a star-studded cast, humor galore and one catchy tune ("Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede). But now's the time to set aside the comedy and go for some goosebump-inducing, explosive and just plain riveting new footage ... with a few jokes thrown in on the side.

Accompanied by some intense orchestrations and all the 'Avengers' movie logos, the latest 'Guardians of the Galaxy' trailer uncovers more of our lead's past and where this batch of unlikely superheroes originated -- Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) was only a boy when he left Earth and headed to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, where he would eventually become the thief known as Star-Lord. Of course, when destiny decides to throw him a curveball and place him in possession of an orb so powerful that some of the darkest forces in the galaxy would do anything to get their hands on it, he steps up to the plate to lead an assassin (Gamora), a maniac (Drax The Destroyer), a foulmouthed raccoon (Rocket Raccoon) and a tree-like alien with a limited vocabulary (Groot) to defend the universe.

If this 'Guardians of the Galaxy' trailer doesn't get your blood boiling with excitement, perhaps its hard-to-ignore cast will. Aside from Chris Pratt, we've also got Zoe Saldana, WWE star Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and even Josh Brolin.

We can't wait for 'Guardians of the Galaxy' to bow this August 1, so that the uninitiated will finally know what this relatively unknown Marvel team is all about.
