WEST GLACIER, MT. –
Glacier National Park and the Glacier Institute are accepting applications for their “Discovering Glacier through Science & Culture” teacher workshop to be held June 21-24 at the park.

Upper elementary, middle, and high school teachers from the local area and across the country are encouraged to apply. Teachers selected for the field-based workshop will spend time in the park with agency researchers, educators, and cultural speakers discussing park resource issues and topics. The four-day workshop will be based at the Glacier Institute’s Field Camp in West Glacier. Teachers will learn about a variety of current research projects and learn about the park’s resources through both native perspectives and western science.

Room and board will be provided free of charge during the workshop and participants who complete the workshop will receive a grant to defray their travel/transportation and material costs. Participation is limited to 18 teachers.

To apply, and learn more about the workshop, visit the Glacier Institute’s website or call 406-755-1211.  On-line applications will be accepted through close of business on Monday, April 4, 2016 or until the workshop is full. Funding provided by the Glacier National Park Conservancy.
