Garth Brooks never does anything halfway, and his upcoming appearance on the 'Today' show is no exception.

The country superstar is slated to appear on NBC's long-running morning news and entertainment show on Jan. 8, 2015, but it's no run-of-the-mill interview or performance. Brooks will appear during all four hours of the broadcast, marking a first in the 62-year history of the show.

The appearance is part of Brooks' promotional efforts for 'Man Against Machine,' his first studio album in 13 years. The album's second single, 'Mom,' has been burning up social media.

The singer and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, have also embarked on a massive world tour that has set new records in every market it has played. That tour is scheduled to resume on Jan. 9 in Brooks' hometown of Tulsa, Okla.
