Legendary comedian Bob Newhart is going to be making his ONLY Montana appearance in Great Falls this November! The Great Falls Advertising Federation is bringing one of my favorites to the Mansfield Theater on Thursday night, November 13th, & tickets are on sale NOW. Newhart is a regular laugh riot, I was a big fan of the Bob Newhart Show where he played a shrink & also the one where he portrayed a beleaguered inn keeper back in Vermont. I always suspected that Montana's Norma Ashby played the part of Bob's office receptionist, Carol Kester, on the Newhart program. Check out the reruns...if she doesn't look very similar to Ashby, I don't know who does...real tall & frizzy hair! Norma herself will be joining me on the Puffman Show at 4:30 this afternoon (Thursday) to fill us in on the Newhart November appearance in Great Falls. Bob's career in show business spans over 50 years including the television series (one of them with Norma Ashby/Carol Kester), 14 feature films, & millions of albums sold worldwide. In fact, I've spent many an hour when I was a kid listening to his "The Button Down Mind Of Bob Newhart". I never quite understood what "Button Down Mind" meant, but the album was a riot! Remember the driving instructor, Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, & the invention of baseball? They killed me! I hope Mr. Newhart does some of that old stuff at the Mansfield. The man has hosted the Tonight Show an astonishing 87 times. A shortage of words has never been one of Norma's burdens & I'm sure the ol' Montana TV lady broadcaster will also be filling us in on the "Local" big band & vocalists who will be a part of Bob Newhart's Great Falls performance at the Mansfield. Tickets are on sale now at the Mansfield box office. All seats are reserved & can also be purchased on line at: ticketing.greatfallsmt.net or by phone at 455 8514. You can also stop by the Mansfield in person at 2 Park Drive South in Great Falls to grab your tickets BEFORE Bob's only Montana appearance is sold out. Looking forward to talking "Show Biz" with Norma this afternoon at 4:30 on the Puffman Show.
