Dwight Yoakam has a new album coming out next year — and it’ll mark a return to his longtime home, Warner Music, after a decade spent recording for other labels.

Dwight Yoakam is country music. His voice is immediately recognizable and his artistry is iconic,” said label president John Esposito while announcing the signing. “When I heard his current music, I was blown away. I think that it is some of the best music he has ever done and I’m incredibly proud to have him back at Warner Bros. Records.”

Yoakam originally signed with Warners in 1986, when they reissued his indie debut, ‘Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc.,’ and remained in the fold for a bestselling string of releases that continued through 2001’s ‘South of Heaven, West of Hell.’ His new album, scheduled for early 2012, will reportedly include contributions from Beck and co-producer Joe Chiccarelli.

“I’m pleased to be back in partnership with Warner Music Group for the release of my new music,” said Yoakam. “I’m excited about the enthusiasm they’ve expressed in their desire to once again be the conduit for my songs and recordings as well as the ensuing musical journey that it will take us on.”
