The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC), in concert with the Upper Missouri River Basin Advisory Council (BAC), has launched an initiative to update the State Water Plan for the Upper Missouri Basin. The BAC consists of representatives from key water interests including: agriculture, conservation, industry, municipal, recreation and tribal. DNRC and the BAC have scheduled a series of meetings to identify and prioritize water issues that will be addressed through the planning process. Public involvement is a critical step in this process. Regional meetings are set for the following dates and locations:

Great Falls: Monday, Sept. 30, Mountain West Bank, 12 Third Street NW,     Downstairs Conference Room (use rear / north door)

Conrad: Tuesday, Oct. 1, Pondera Golf and Country Club, one mile west of town

Helena:  Wednesday, Oct. 2, Downtown Holiday Inn, on Walking Mall

Bozeman:  Tuesday, Oct. 8, Holiday Inn, 5 E. Baxter Lane

Dillon:  Wednesday, Oct. 9, U-M Western, Lewis and Clark Room

Each meeting will start at 6 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. Meetings will commence with brief presentations from water specialists, followed by a facilitated discussion with Upper Missouri BAC members and the public. Come on out and share ideas for future water management in the Upper Missouri Basin!
