(CUT BANK) – A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT NORTH OF CUT BANK TUES. AFTERNOON INVOLVING A SCHOOL BUS AND A FORD PICKUP REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE MT. HIGHWAY PATROL.

OFFICER TERRENCE MELTON DID REPORT TODAY THAT THERE WERE 17 STUDENTS ON THE BUS AND THE DRIVER.    THE BUS WAS STOPPED AND UNLOADING STUDENTS WHEN IT WAS RAMMED FROM BEHIND BY THE FORD PICKUP….HAULING A WELDING TRAILER LOADED WITH PROPANE BOTTLES.

MELTON REPORTED THAT THE DRIVER WAS TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO BE EXTRICATED.    FOUR STUDENTS AND THE DRIVER OF THE PICKUP WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE NORTHERN ROCKIES MEDICAL

NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS RELEASED.

(SHELBY) – THE TOOLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT CONFIRMED TODAY THAT TWO DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES  AND A BUSINESS ON THE NORTHSIDE WERE BROKEN INTO SOMETIME BETWEEN MONDAY NIGHT AND TUES. MORNING THIS WEEK.

THE BREAK-IN ON THE NORTH SIDE OCCURRED AT THE TEN PIN ALLEY AND THE FORCED ENTRY OR ATTEMPTED FORCED ENTRY DOWNTOWN WERE AT THE GRIDDLE AND NORTHTOWN DRUG.

THE SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT WAS NOT SPECIFIC ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AT EACH INDIVIDUAL BUSINESS BUT THEY SAID THAT AN UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF CASH WERE TAKEN FROM THE BUSINESSES AND SOME PROPERTY WAS DAMAGED.   THE OWNER OF THE GRIDDLE, TAMMY HEAD, TOLD US THAT THE BACK DOOR AND FRAME WERE ENTERED WITH A CROW BAR AND WERE A TOTAL LOSS BUT NOT A LOT OF CASH OR OTHER DAMAGE OCCURRED.

BURGLARS WERE APPARENTLY UNABLE TO ENTER NORTHTOWN DRUG BUT DAMAGE WAS MORE EXTENSIVE AT THE TEN PIN ALLEY.    NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE.

THE SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT REMINDS CITIZENS THAT ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ON THE CRIMES CAN CALL THE TOOLE COUNTY CRIMESTOPPERS  AT 424-8477.    YOU CAN REMAIN ANONYMOUS AND COULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CASH REWARD UP TO $1,000.00.
