Chris Young is the latest celebrity face to don the walls of Nashville’s high-end restaurant, the Palm. Young’s mug was recently added amongst the variety of caricatures of musicians, actors, politicians, athletes, regular customers and people of note, as well as classic cartoons, which complete the wall decor throughout the restaurant in downtown Nashville.

Young took a break from his busy CRS (Country Radio Seminar) schedule this week to stop by the restaurant for the unveiling of the new caricature on Wednesday (Feb. 22) and to autograph the piece of art that shares the same wall space as a few other country stars, like the Oak Ridge Boys and Randy Travis.

“Chris is a great addition to our wall since he has participated in several fundraising events at the Palm for Make a Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee as well as Stars for Stripes,” says Paige Dixon, sales manager for the Palm (pictured above with Young). “We’re honored that Chris could stop by in the midst of CRS week and his national tour. We’re proud that he’ll be a permanent fixture here.”

The caricature tradition originated when Pio Bozzi and John Ganzi opened the Palm restaurant in 1926. Since they were on such a tight budget, the two couldn’t afford to purchase decorations and offered complimentary meals in exchange for the cartoon artwork to be put on the walls by professional artists.

“The Palm is such a mainstay in this city and in the music community,” says Young. “It’s pretty cool to be part of this Nashville institution!”

The Nashville Palm is located at 140 5th Avenue South.
