Overnight Sensation Rebecca Black – So Bad She’s Good or Just Plain Terrible? [VIDEO]

New and old media alike have been abuzz about a music video from an unknown pop singer named Rebecca Black that’s so bad it’s…still pretty bad. The song is called “Friday” and in it, Black waxes poetic about anticipation for the weekend and driving around with her girlfriends in the most literal way possible

WHERE HAVE YOU GONE JOE DIMAGGIO!?

I guess we'll find out this afternoon (Tuesday 3/1) when I talk with Jerome Charyn, author of an eloquent new book on Joe DiMaggio. Biographers have painted the private DiMaggio as a cruel, cunning man with little interest in other people, a man obsessed with his own image as the great American hero. My guest says in his book "Joe DiMaggio: The Long Vigil", that DiMaggio was a man of extremes, superbly talented on the field, but privately insecure, passive, and dysfunctional.

Gary Morris at Mansfield Center

Not many artists can cross over from country music to opera, but Gary Morris did just that in the 1980's. After a string of country hits including the 1984 ACM and CMA Song of the Year, Wind Beneath My Wings, he joined Linda Ronstadt  in a New York production of Puccini's opera "La Boheme, then took on Broadway, playing (and singing) the role of Jean Val Jean in "Les Miserables."

These days, Gary Morris continues to tour, playing mostly acoustic ("just me and my guitar") concerts. He'll be appearing at the University of Great Falls Theater Thursday evening at 7:30pm. Tickets are $20 general admission, $15 for students and members of the military. For tickets, call the GF Civic Center Box Office at 455-8514.

THE GRAMMYS SHOULD BE GRAND

If you're a music buff (rhymes with my last name) like me, you're probably more than ready for the Grammy Awards this Sunday night. I'm as excited as a schoolboy with an extra candy bar in his lunch box!  My hero and the writer/performer of the best rock and roll song ever (according to this blog writer AND Rolling Stone magazine), 69 year old Bob Dylan, has been added to this year's star studded lineup.

BETTER THAN WINNING THE LOTTERY

This could be better than winning the state lottery! My guest Thursday afternoon on the Puffman show says there $33 billion  (with a B) out there on state unclaimed property sites waiting to be claimed by the the rightful owners or heirs. By the way, the "h" in heirs is silent meaning you don't pronounce it like "hair"... as in "The Puffman seems to be losing his hair".

WHAT’S UP JACK…IT’S ALL ABOUT THE YAAK

It  seems like Tuesdays are my favorite day of the week because I look forward to visiting the Marias Heritage Center and reading Montana history to the residents. Apparently I didn't read fast enough last week because I wasn't able to finish the last page of Christy Leskovar's "Finding The Bad Inn."
