Take a walk on the wild side

I'm doing an interview this afternoon (Thursday) at 4:35PM about Sinatra's favorite watering hole and guess what? It wasn't the Dixie Inn! It was a joint down in Vegas named "Jilly's" that was a favorite Rat Pack hangout

What are you? Some kind of comedian or something?

his guy IS a comedian. Not only is he a comedian but he's a "comedian for All Audiences" and he's scheduled to appear and perform in Conrad tomorrow (Wednesday) night at the Conrad High School Auditorium. He's Norman Foote (the E's silent!) and thanks to the Pondera Arts Council, the foot loose Foote will be entertaining here in the Golden Triangle. The Local Children's Choir will also be appearing with this all around funny man tomorrow night and from what Helen Elliot was telling me, there may be as many as 60 kids in tomorrow evening's choir presentation. It all starts at 7 tomorrow (Wednesday) night and there will be tickets available at the door at Conrad High School.

Martina McBridge went along for the ride

Wide Open Country star Martina McBride rode the rails last week to promote her latest release, her new album "Eleven". This 4 day, exclusive trip took her all the way from Los Angeles to New York with 11 stops along the way. She performed intimate concerts for fans in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Chicago and New York. The tour was called "Eleven Across America Powered By Amtrak" and this afternoon (Tuesday) at 4:35 on the Puffman Show, I'll be talking with Christina Leeds from Amtrak Public Relations back in Washington D.C. Christina must have one swell job with the Amtrak people...she got to ride along on McBride's train ride.

You dirty bombshell you!

When Lorna J. Brunelle became ill with thyroid cancer, the iodine treatment, one little purple pill, made her radioactive and began to fight the cancer cells her thyroidectomy surgery left behind. In her book, "Dirty Bomb Shell, From Thyroid Cancer Back to Fabulous", Brunelle lends wit, charm and humor to her learning to swallow the fact that to become well, she must first become a human "dirty bombshell" without alienating family and friends, or losing herself

Hey grandpa, what’s for dinner

This first of October weekend is a great weekend in which to work up a hunger in the Golden Triangle. Harvest fests abound with the Brady United Methodist Church holding their fall dinner tomorrow (Saturday) night from 5 to 7 at the Brady Community Hall. I wonder if the infamous Gary Gollohon will be there chowing down!

When I Fall In Love

Who doesn't remember the first time they heard that tune by the Lettermen. Or how about "The Way You Look Tonight" or "Come Back Silly Girl". Like a lot of you, I grew up with these guys. In fact, they did a show at my high school back in the early 60's. (I started 1st grade when I was two, I'm not really this old! The Lettermen are celebrating over 49 years in the music industry and this afternoon (Tuesday), Tony Butala, original and founding member of the group, will be joining me on the Puffman Show. I still enjoy The Lettermen music today and hardly a week or two goes by that I don't spin one of their tunes on my afternoon radio program.

A Wonderful Summer

That's the title of a Robin Ward tune from the early 60's and it rings really true as we race through August and into September. I can't believe that our 4 county fair has come and gone as well as Whoop Up Days, 4th of July weekend in Choteau, Grizzly Day, and Dutton Fun Day not to mention all the other fun activities this summer

A Wondeful Fair

What a wonderful fair it was this year here at our Shelby fairgrounds. It was year number 70 and I thought this year's 4 county Marias Fair was the best ever. And having Charlie Jenkins for the Saturday night grandstand show, coupled with no gate admission made this year's  fair even more special
