I've been a bowling fan for years. I used to watch "Bowling For Dollars" every night when I lived back east. The Ladies Bowling League will be meeting this evening (Wednesday) at the Cut Bank Library which is a good place for bowlers to meet because often times it is so quiet, that you can hear a PIN drop! The bowling league will be meeting at 7 o'clock in the library meeting room to discuss the upcoming leagues
If you want to impress your co-workers mention that this Friday will be a "blue moon", but don’t be surprised if the office know-it-all begs to differ. Turns out there are two definitions for this lunar rarity, and according to earthsky
Of course, it was Tuesday & I was reading "Montana History" up at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby. We're currently reading the Nancy Russell book, "Behind Every Man". I always hope the members of my reading group are enjoying this Montana history as much as I am. I
No doubt about it...there's no place better than the FRONT(!) & the Coalition to Protect the Rocky Mountain Front is fired up about their annual barbeque coming up one week from this Friday. The Coalition is hoping that you & your family can join them for fun, food, & camaraderie (I've never eaten "camaraderie" before but it sounds good, perhaps European fare) on Friday evening, September 7th from 5:30 to 9 at the Choteau Country Club. The Happy
I just came across a great "grilling" book...it's John Schlimm's "Grilling Vegan Style-125 Fired-Up Recipes To Turn Every Bite Into A Backyard BBQ". It's a beautiful presentation from Da Capo Lifelong Books, & I'll be giving away one of these cool books this afternoon (Tuesday) in the 4 o'clock hour on my "Puffman Musical Trivia" to the 1st listener/caller with the correct answer to my musical trivia question. Au
I realize that's it only Saturday morning, but I wanted to "blog" the word out on a blood drawing coming up this Thursday, 8/30th, in Chester. Accidents never take a holiday and there is always IS a real need for blood
If you are, come on up to the community card party this Monday afternoon at the Marias Heritage Center. The cards will be cut at 1:30 & then the fun begins! They play a variety of games...Let It Ride would be my favorite! This is a fun Monday get together at the Heritage Center & everyone is welcome...there
I had a chance to fly over the Rocky Mountain Front this morning (Friday), thanks to the Montana Wilderness Association. It goes without saying that I always enjoy my Monday morning conversations with Jim Anderson down at Grizzly Sports in Choteau and I thought, being the unbiased person that I am, that I should check out "the other side of the story"
One of them was Nancy Cooper...she married the infamous Charlie Russell and I've found a fascinating book by Joan Stauffer from the University of Oklahoma Press that I'm currently reading Tuesday evenings at 6 at the Marias Heritage Center
It's another fun week here in North Central Montana. The weather is GREAT & tonight (Wednesday) the Summer Market Festival will be happening down in Conrad from 5 until 8 at the Conrad swimming pool. Ha
