Athletes of the Week
Both of our KSEN/K96 Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week this week were named first team all-conference, all-state selections once their seasons came to a close.
Male athlete of the week honors go to Fairfield senior Chandler Allen, a three-year starter for the Eagles after Fairfield’s loss to Missoula/Loyola last week was named a first team all-conference and all-state selection from the 1B on both offense and defense at tight end and defensive end. He was a key figure in the Loyola semi-final game with nine catches for 227 yards and two touchdowns. The two touchdown completions in the first quarter went for 44 and 75 yards and got the Eagles off to a great start causing Missoula to play catch-up for most of the rest of the game. Allen not only has exceptional athletic skills, Fairfield head coach Les Meyer says he’s a “natural leader on and off the field”.
Our female athlete of the week, also from Fairfield, concluded a tremendous season on the volleyball court at the state tournament last weekend. Senior Allix Goldhahn is listed as an outside hitter for the Eagles and she is definitely a powerful hitter at the net, but she may be even more impressive from the back row digging up balls to set the offense in motion. She typically leads Fairfield in digs and had some tremendous saves in the Eagles’ three matches at the state tournament. The best effort came in the win over Shelby where she had 27 digs for the match. Fairfield head coach, Courtney Bake, says Allix is always hustling and really has a good foundation for how the game should be played. Goldhahn was one of three 1B district players who were named first team all-conference and all-state players at the end of the season. The other two were Molly Salmond and Megan Krone, both of Choteau.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96-Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week; senior Allix Goldhahn of Fairfield and senior, Chandler Allen of Fairfield. Our Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonalds in Cut Bank. McDonald’s honors our athletes with two free value meals each.
