She's Lenore McKelvey Puhek from Helena & I'll be reading more of her 4th book, "No Time for Tears" tonight (Tuesday) during Montana History up at the Heritage Center. They're all here... homesteaders, businessmen, miners, teachers, cowboys, ministers, soiled doves & families all share a common bond: survival of the fittest. There were no radio stations in those days & I'm not sure what I would have been doing for a living...perhaps running the weekly newspaper or dispatching pony express drivers...it's all about communications anyway! The brave women who risked it all, endured untold hardships & struggled to the very end of their lives, are the unsung heroines of the settling of our Treasure State.
