The City of Shelby Sidewalk Snow Removal Ordinance is now in FULL effect. Thus far this winter, there have been several "slip & falls" due to ice & snow accumulations on sidewalks throughout our city. It's been reported that ONLY approximately 30% of the sidewalks here in Shelby are being shoveled in compliance with the ordinance. Most of the "slip & falls" have been senior citizens too(!) & some of those injuries have been EXTENSIVE! The City of Shelby is urging everyone's cooperation in shoveling their walks in compliance with the ordinance! The city WILL BE enforcing the ordinance following the enforcement provisions.
